Fairy Recipe
Fudge
by Jacqueline Collen-Tarrolly
Fudge Ingredients:
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 lb powdered sugar
6 tbsp evaporated milk--kept at room temperature!!! this is important!!!
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 c butter ( soft)
1 c of any filling you want to put in.
This is optional. I usually make one batch plain, and one or more batches with my choice of fillings, like peanut butter, nuts, caramel, junior mints, etc....be creative...
Melt chocolate pieces in double boiler over hot water nnot boiling!!!! The reason for all this room temperature stuff, and not boiling, is because the fudge is hard to mix due to it's stiffness, and my mother found that it is easier to mix when everything is nice and temperate.). Combine in mixing bowl the powdered sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla and salt. Stir until smooth. Add melted chocolate, stir until blended. Add the butter. Then mix in any fillings you want. Spread into a buttered 8 inch square pan, and chill. When cold, cut into pieces and enjoy!!!
t 10-15 minutes or until golden.

THERE IS A VEIL BETWEEN THE WORLDS

Years ago, what would seem like many to those of us of mortal blood, but what is really just a twitch of time to the ageless stars and eternal moons, the world of mortal and the world of fairy were separated. Mortal man had become too populous, too jaded, too fast for the easier, more gente… Continue

DIFFERENT CREATURES FROM THE FAIRIE GROUPS

Pixies are neat creatures.. They aern't evil, but perform quite unkind tricks, like leading travelers astray or to steal naughty children. They like to pinch maids who don't keep the house clean. They were often thought to be the souls of babies who had died before baptism.
Leprechauns. Shoemakers for the noble faeries of Ireland. They were cranky, solitary, and strangely enough, often seen by humans. A caught leprechaun tricks his captor into releasing him by telling him he can show him the way to the shoemaker's great golden treasure, which the sad captor will never see, since the leprechaun will disappear before you know it...
Trolls. Nowadays, we often think of trolls as big, clumsy creatures who go around hitting people on the head with a hammer or something, but in the Middle Ages they were thought to have magical powers as fortune-telling.
Asrai are small, delicate water faeries. Fishermen might catch Asrai with his catch. When exposed to air they melt, leaving nothing more than water behind.
Brownies come out at night to finish work that's been left unfinished. They are devoted to their household and expect nothing but a bowl of cream and a cake for their concern. Any offer of reward or clothing will drive the brownie away. Boggarts are "evil" brownies, they've often have been wronged by humans. They like tricking humans and often cause a great deal of trouble.
Changelings are fairies taking the place of a human child who has been stolen by other faeries. (in some stories like Scandinavian ones, changelings are Troll children) Parents may recover their own child if they can trick the changeling into revealing it's age.
Selkies are faeries who put on seal skins and appear to be seals as they travel in the water. On land they shed their seal skins and have human form. A selkie maiden can be won as brides by stealing their seal skin as it lay on the beach, so they couldn't return home.

An interview with Plotka Hildur

Plotka showed up on time, looking dashingly good in a purple dress that looked like it was created from cabbage leaves. Her big, intelligent green eyes looked curiously at me, as she pulled out a roll of whispering leaves and put them on the table.

The world of Nidlongdir

It all started last year when I was doing some botanical illustrations of apples in my garden. During the summer I had spent many hours under the three old apple trees, and sometimes had a feeling that I was being watched...

The Hollow Tree

My sisters and I would play in the leaves beneath the Hollow Tree, or search for four-leaf clovers in her clover patch. I would often sit beneath her and draw, and we would sleigh ride down the little hill beside her each winter.

Everything has changed...

Everything has changed since I have last written. The world has changed. I have changed. I awoke this morning with a new sense of purpose, a new hope, unlike that which I have experienced in a decade or more.

The Fairy Nana Guild

The Fairy Nana Project began as a daydream I had, as I was watching my then one year old granddaughter Harriet playing blissfully on the floor with her mama.
